Brightness is measured in lumens. The lumens can range anywhere from 300 lumens to 3300 lumens, with 3300 being the brightest. Lumen Range Comments 300 - 500 lumens These will usually be the least expensive projectors. Also, the low light output may require your presentations to be made in a dark or dimly lit room. 500 - 1000 lumens Projectors in this range are geared toward normal business conference room and classroom use. Resolution can be defined as the number of pixels used by the projector to create an image. The higher the resolution, the better sharpness and clarity of the picture on the screen. XGA projectors tend to be more expensive than SVGA projector but prices are dropping due to the increased use of XGA laptop computers. SXGA 1280 x 1024 SXGA products are geared towards high-end personal computers and low end workstations. They are often used in situations where acute resolution of small details is needed. UXGA 1600 x 1200 UXGA is aimed at workstation applications with very high resolution. There are not very many products that have UXGA native resolution.
